Rugged, beautiful,
well designed, and economical – this describes CAST solid bronze fixtures. They
are hand-made by skilled artisans using the
ancient technique of sand-casting, then assembled
with the highest grade of stainless steel sockets
and tin-coated wire. These fixtures are unmatched
as professional tools for the Lighting Designer.
CAST
Lighting Fixtures – The History
The creation
of CAST fixtures was a collaboration of
lighting designers, lighting installers,
and experts in metallurgy and engineering.
The intention was simple, create fixtures
that are impervious to corrosion; are unbreakable;
are easy to install, adjust, and maintain;
and have lasting beauty.
When the initial designs
and engineering were complete, Dave
Beausoleil searched for the ideal location
to manufacture the fixtures. He had already
selected Solid Bronze as the material of
choice because of its strength, resistance
to corrosion (better than all other metals
including copper) and natural beauty. The
search was not easy since bronze casting
is not a process that can be done by machines,
it is a labor intensive process where every
fixture is individually made by hand.
After
a world-wide search, Dave found a
South American village where the craft
of sand-casting bronze had been passed
down through the generations. The
local artisans were overjoyed at the
prospect of applying their skills
in the manufacturing of CAST Lights.
With the increasing demand for our
fixtures, a new prosperity has come
to these workers and their families.
The skill and care they put into their
work is evident in every fixture.
On
Fixture Color: All CAST bronze and copper fixtures
are uncoated and undergo a natural progression
of color change from a shiny metallic bronze
or copper to a bluish/green patina verdi.
